This move aims to enhance social value through continuous social contribution amid growing interest in ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management.
On the 30th of last month, LG Uplus employees visited the Hope Bridge Paju Logistics Center and assembled 410 emergency relief kits. The assembled kits are stored at the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association during normal times and are promptly delivered to disaster victims when a disaster occurs.
LG Uplus promoted the production of emergency relief kits in preparation for April and May, when the frequency of wildfires is high. Spring is the season when the number of hikers increases and dry conditions make wildfires the most frequent among the four seasons.
The kit assembly was carried out in compliance with quarantine guidelines such as social distancing and mask-wearing to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Volunteers personally assembled the relief kits, which consist of items necessary for disaster victims, including blankets, clothing, hygiene products, daily necessities, medicines, and safety supplies.
Since establishing a partnership with Hope Bridge in 2019 to support victims of the wildfires in Goseong, Gangwon Province, LG Uplus has continued to support the production of relief kits annually. Going forward, LG Uplus plans to steadily continue activities to prepare for disaster situations.
