Grandmother Kim, who lives in Chojun-dong, Jinju, visited the Jinju Indoor Gymnasium around 2:30 PM that day with her son and daughter-in-law to receive the Pfizer vaccine.
According to her resident registration, her birth year is 1907, making her 115 years old.
A nurse, surprised by the birth year, rechecked her age. Her actual age was 96, younger than the registered age.
The grandmother's son explained, "During the Korean War, the community office documents were burned, so my mother's age was registered as older than it actually is."
Grandmother Kim is an only child who lost her parents early and has not corrected her resident registration because there was no witness to prove her actual age.
