As national outrage continues over the triple murder of a mother and her two daughters at an apartment in Junggye-dong, Nowon-gu, Seoul, chrysanthemums were placed at the scene of the incident on the afternoon of the 1st to mourn the victims. A white paper with the words "We are sorry" was also placed. The chrysanthemums appear to have been left by neighboring residents.
Residents expressed their sorrow for the three women. An elderly woman in her 80s, whom we met near the apartment, said, "I hope this case is resolved quickly. It is very tragic." She added, "There is a daughter in my family too, so it is very heartbreaking," and further said, "It must be really unfair and painful."
On the afternoon of the 25th, A (59), B (24), and C (22), a mother and her two daughters, were found dead in the apartment. The police responded to a report from an acquaintance of the victims who said they could not contact their friend and discovered the three deceased inside the apartment.
At the scene that day, a man in his 20s, identified as D, was seriously injured from self-harm and was transported to the hospital. It is understood that D killed the three women and then attempted self-harm.

The perpetrator, this man, is reported to have persistently followed the eldest daughter for three months, demanding a relationship. As the case is being considered a stalking crime, calls from citizens demanding the disclosure of D’s identity are growing louder.
Friends of B claimed through media outlets that D had stalked B for several months. They said that B had expressed fear due to D’s stalking since early this year, stating, "She never gave out her apartment unit number, but he came to her doorstep." They also said that B recently changed her phone number to avoid stalking, and that the eldest daughter, the victim, suffered extreme distress.
Meanwhile, on the 26th, a petition titled "Please disclose the identity of the man in his 20s who murdered three family members in Nowon" was posted on the Blue House (Cheong Wa Dae) National Petition Board.
The petitioner stated, "Women, who die by the dozens every day, are exposed to many crimes because they are 'relatively vulnerable,'" and emphasized, "Articles about the 'Nowon triple murder case' are increasing, but the world seems strangely quiet. It should not be quiet. We cannot just let this pass." As of 5 p.m. on the 1st, the petition had received 220,419 signatures, meeting the threshold for a response from the Blue House.
