Police Investigate Plaintiff in Case Against Hyun Joo-yeop Denying School Violence Allegations
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] Hyun Joo-yeop, a former basketball player turned broadcaster who has taken legal action against those accusing him of school violence, was recently confirmed to have undergone an accuser investigation.
According to the police on the 1st, the Seoul Suseo Police Station summoned Hyun Joo-yeop on the 25th of last month as an accuser in a defamation case and conducted an investigation. The police plan to identify the personal information of the accused and proceed with summons investigations.
Earlier, on the 13th of last month, a person claiming to be a junior who played sports at the same school as Hyun Joo-yeop demanded an apology and his withdrawal from broadcasting through an online community, alleging that Hyun Joo-yeop had committed serious violence against school juniors.

In response, Hyun Joo-yeop stated, "The claims were malicious fabrications intended to create an image of me as violent," and added, "There was no personal violence," filing a defamation lawsuit under the Information and Communications Network Act against the accusers.
