One New COVID-19 Case Reported in Hwasun... Jeonnam No. 914
[Hwasun=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Ji-woon] One new COVID-19 case was confirmed overnight in Hwasun-gun, Jeollanam-do.
According to the county on the 1st, the confirmed case classified as Jeonnam 914 (Hwasun 65) was confirmed to have come into contact with Seoul Gwanak-gu case number 1498.
The Jeonnam 914 case had been living in Seoul and visited their hometown on the 30th of last month. Due to suspicious symptoms such as a sore throat, they visited the county health center's screening clinic the day before, underwent testing, and received a final positive diagnosis that evening.
Upon notification of the confirmed case, the county immediately completed disinfection of the patient's residence and transferred the patient to Gangjin Medical Center. Diagnostic tests were requested for three family members residing in Hwasun who were classified as close contacts, all of whom tested negative.
It was confirmed that aside from using a taxi and bus to travel to and from the Gwangju terminal between the 30th and 31st of last month, the confirmed case had no other movement routes.
The county is conducting an epidemiological investigation to accurately identify transportation methods and contacts.

A county official stated, “This remains a serious situation where infection can occur anytime and anywhere. We ask that people refrain from visiting other regions as much as possible and strictly adhere to quarantine rules such as the ban on gatherings of five or more.”
