NHN Builds Suncheon Data Center with "300 Billion KRW Investment"
[Asia Economy Reporter Bu Aeri] NHN announced on the 31st that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Jeollanam-do and Suncheon City to establish a public cloud data center and a smart IT industrial valley.
NHN established a specialized corporation, 'NHN Enterprise Co., Ltd.,' on the 26th to build data centers and provide data services.
Under this agreement, NHN Enterprise Co., Ltd. will invest 300 billion KRW over 20 years in Suncheon City to build a cloud data center and a smart IT industrial valley, and will carry out projects such as talent development and public data cloud migration.
The cloud data center to be established will be designated by the government as a public cloud center and will support the migration of information systems of public institutions located in Jeollanam-do by 2025.
Jeollanam-do plans to revitalize the data-driven IT industry centered on the cloud data center established in Suncheon, foster IT talent, attract related companies, and create a future-oriented advanced industrial ecosystem with quality jobs.
