Gwangju Lifelong Education Promotion Agency Launches 'Autonomous District Village Happiness Learning Center' Support Project
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] The Gwangju Lifelong Education Promotion Institute announced on the 31st that it has completed the final selection of programs for the '2021 Autonomous District Village Happiness Learning Center Support Project.'
This program was prepared to identify the lifelong education needs of residents at the closest level and to provide lifelong education services required by local residents.
The Happiness Learning Center refers to a space where residents can comfortably and without burden visit to learn, such as community centers, welfare centers, libraries, and apartment facilities, and serves as a key hub space for village and resident exchange and communication.
The 'Village Happiness Learning Center Support Project' is a project that supports the operation of Happiness Learning Centers so that lifelong education programs desired by residents, such as 'Happiness Learning Center programs reflecting the characteristics of each autonomous district' and 'village-type lifelong learning model programs at the living unit level,' can be operated targeting the five autonomous districts of Gwangju.
Since the national funding support ended in 2017, the Gwangju Lifelong Education Promotion Institute has been supporting the operating budget of the Happiness Learning Centers and promoting village lifelong education activation through capacity-building education for Happiness Learning Managers.
This year’s Autonomous District Village Happiness Learning Center Support Project decided to support a total budget of 75 million won for the five autonomous districts after review and expert consulting.
Also, the selected programs will start classes from next month at Happiness Learning Centers throughout the villages.
All educational programs will be conducted free of charge annually until November this year, and details such as the curriculum by autonomous district, recruitment targets, and schedule by session can be inquired through each autonomous district’s website or main contact number.
