Seoul City Selects 16,273 Participants for First Youth Allowance Program
All Applicants Meeting the 'Basic Requirements' Selected... Approximately 20,000 Supported This Year
First Payment on April 23, 500,000 KRW Monthly for 6 Months
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 31st that a total of 16,273 people have been selected as the first participants of the Seoul Youth Allowance this year. Whether selected can be individually checked by logging into the Seoul Youth Portal.
The Youth Allowance will be first paid on April 23, with 500,000 KRW per month paid for up to six months. Selected participants must watch an orientation video online by April 12 and create a dedicated Youth Allowance account and check card through the Shinhan Bank mobile app (SOL). The Youth Allowance will be paid to the final selected participants who complete these requirements, including participation in the orientation and account opening.
To proactively respond to youth unemployment and livelihood issues caused by COVID-19, Seoul conducted this year’s recruitment announcement more than one month earlier than last year. After June, a second recruitment for the Youth Allowance will be conducted through a separate announcement.
