Shinan-gun Selected as an Excellent Local Government for the Hope Sharing Campaign for Two Consecutive Years
Amid COVID-19 Economic Downturn, Active Fundraising Efforts to Promote Sharing Culture
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] Sinan-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Park Woo-ryang) announced on the 30th that it was selected as an excellent local government for the Hope 2021 Sharing Campaign and received a plaque of appreciation from the Jeonnam Community Chest of Korea (Chairman Noh Dong-il).
Despite the unprecedented economic recession caused by COVID-19 last year, Sinan-gun was recognized for leading the creation of a local atmosphere for practicing love for neighbors and spreading a culture of sharing, receiving the plaque of appreciation and being selected as an excellent city/county for two consecutive years following last year.
As a result of participation in various donation activities from companies, organizations, and individuals across all sectors in the Sinan area, 340 million KRW was raised throughout 2020, and 170 million KRW was raised for the Hope 2021 Sharing Campaign, recording an increase of 210% and 103% respectively compared to the previous year.
The collected donations will be used as funds for various welfare projects such as livelihood and medical support and housing environment improvement for neighbors in need within the region through the Jeonnam Community Chest of Korea.
