Bungaejangter Strengthens Golf and Fashion Business Divisions
Acquisition of Used Golf Equipment Platform 'Sbridge' and Secondhand Clothing Shop 'MarketinU'
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Bungaejangter (CEO Lee Jae-hoo) announced on the 30th that it has recently completed the acquisition of the used golf equipment platform 'Sbridge' and the used clothing select shop 'MarketinU'.
Bungaejangter explained that it acquired the used golf equipment trading platform to respond to the continuous increase in demand for golf equipment and to solidify its leadership in used golf transactions. Sbridge has the largest product database for a single category of used golf equipment, with a cumulative total of 1.8 million products and 70,000 products in stock. It currently supplies products to 10 companies, including Coupang and Naver, and plans to expand partnerships to 50 companies this year.
'MarketinU' is a company that selectively purchases and sells used clothing, mainly handling famous overseas brands. As the demand for organizing and decluttering has increased recently, Bungaejangter expects to create a healthy virtuous cycle culture of clothing resources through the acquisition of MarketinU.
The fashion and golf equipment categories are among the high-volume and remarkably growing categories on Bungaejangter, and with this acquisition, Bungaejangter plans to strengthen its business capabilities by expanding from the platform to offline. In particular, it expects to achieve synergy by integrating Bungaejangter's technological capabilities with the specialized expertise in these categories.
Fashion accounted for about 40% of the transaction amount on Bungaejangter last year, and golf-related equipment is a rapidly growing item with surging demand. For example, in January this year, the number of transactions for golf clubs, golf shoes, and other golf equipment increased by 80% compared to the same period last year, and golf clothing transactions increased by 53%.
