Korea Productivity Center Appoints An Wanki as Chairman
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] The Korea Productivity Center announced on the 29th that it held a board meeting and appointed An Wanki, chairman of the Korea Technopark Promotion Agency, as the new chairman. Chairman An will begin his duties on the 1st of next month.
Chairman An graduated from Suwon Suseong High School and Seoul National University with a degree in Public Law, and earned a master's degree from Harvard Law School in the United States. After passing the 1986 civil service exam, he worked at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (now the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy) until 2000, responsible for establishing and implementing government public policies related to industry and trade. Afterwards, he served as head of the Kim & Chang international trade and customs group as a U.S. attorney, providing client advisory services on energy regulations, foreign investment, and government regulations.

In 2016, he served as vice president of the public enterprise Korea Gas Corporation, overseeing domestic and international sales and management. Since 2019, he has served as director of Gyeongnam Technopark and chairman of the Korea Technopark Promotion Agency, carrying out education and advisory work on smart factories and smart industrial complexes to foster regional industry.
