View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Ju-hyung] A man in his 20s, identified as Mr. A, who stabbed and killed a mother and her two daughters with a weapon in an apartment in Nowon-gu, Seoul, is alleged to have been a stalker. It is reported that Mr. A met the eldest daughter of the three while playing an online game and persistently followed her for three months, demanding a relationship. As the possibility of the incident being a stalking crime has been raised, voices from citizens demanding the disclosure of Mr. A’s identity are growing louder.
According to SBS '8 News' on the 29th, acquaintances of the eldest daughter, Ms. B, claimed that Mr. A had stalked Ms. B for several months. They said that Ms. B had expressed fear due to Mr. A’s stalking since early this year, adding, "She never gave out her apartment unit number, but he even came to her doorstep."
They also claimed that Ms. B recently changed her phone number to shake off the stalking.
Earlier, according to the Nowon Police Station in Seoul, the three women were found dead around 9 p.m. on the 25th in an apartment in Nowon-gu. Mr. A was found at the scene with serious self-inflicted injuries and collapsed. He was later transferred to a nearby hospital for surgery.
According to multiple media reports, Mr. A reportedly met Ms. B while playing an online game. After unilaterally demanding a relationship and being rejected, he harbored resentment and committed the crime.

On the 26th, a petition titled "Please disclose the identity of the male suspect in his 20s in the Nowon family triple murder case" was posted on the Blue House National Petition Board.
The petitioner stated, "Women, who die by the dozens every day, are exposed to many crimes because they are 'relatively vulnerable.' Although articles about the 'Nowon mother and two daughters murder case' are gradually increasing, the world seems strangely quiet. It should not be quiet. It should not be overlooked." As of 10 a.m. on the 30th, four days after the petition was posted, it had received over 147,000 endorsements.

This is done by leaving messages on the police station’s official website bulletin board titled 'Requests to the Chief,' such as "Severely punish the murderer," "Disclose the identity," and "This is misogyny and stalking crime."
Meanwhile, according to the police, the National Forensic Service announced on the 28th a preliminary verbal opinion that all three victims died from neck wounds.
The police plan to proceed with a full investigation after confirming through medical opinions whether Mr. A has recovered enough to be questioned.
