"Even a Stick Could Win" Jin Joong-kwon Criticizes Democratic Party's 'Negative' Campaign
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Sumi] Former Dongyang University professor Jin Joong-kwon pointed out on the 29th, "Negative campaigning, try it all you want, does it work?" This appears to be a remark targeting the Democratic Party of Korea. Earlier, Democratic Party lawmaker Yoon Ho-jung called People Power Party's Seoul mayoral candidate Oh Se-hoon "trash," but was urged to stop by the party leadership.
On the same day, Jin posted on his Facebook, "You have to read the public's anger; right now, people are not voting based on the 'person.' Even a stick placed upright would win. A stick doesn't even make outrageous remarks," he said.
Jin also shared an article about internal conflicts at KBS related to reports on suspicions of Oh Se-hoon's involvement in surveying land in Naegok-dong.
The People Power Party visited KBS on the 29th to protest, claiming 'KBS is broadcasting with bias.' The KBS branch of the National Union of Mediaworkers issued a rebuttal statement calling it "media pressure."
Members of the People Power Party from the National Assembly's Science, Technology, Broadcasting and Communications Committee visited KBS headquarters to protest malicious false and distorted reports about People Power Party's Seoul mayoral candidate Oh Se-hoon. Lawmakers Park Dae-chul, Kim Young-sik, Jung Hee-yong, Heo Eun-ah, and Hwang Bo-seung-hee participated in the protest visit.
Earlier, on the 28th, KBS reported on 'News 9' that in June 2005, Oh was present during the surveying of land in Naegok-dong, Seoul, owned by his in-laws.
The report stated that among the two people present at the time, one was Oh's father-in-law, and the other was claimed by cultivators to be Oh himself. It also reported that the surveying team leader said he saw Oh at the site at that time.
Meanwhile, Jin previously emphasized on his Facebook, "If you want to win, watch your words. Control your fanatical supporters well," and added, "Even if the margin seems large, the difference is not that big among active voters."

He continued, "The by-election turnout will be low, and since the Democratic Party's organizational strength is overwhelmingly ahead, no one knows what will happen when the ballot boxes are opened," urging, "Don't be arrogant just because your support rate has risen a bit; be careful until the end. And be humble," he repeatedly stressed.
