Gyeonggi-do to Expand 'Village-type Compost Resource Facilities' by 2025
Including 8 Biogas Production Facilities and 5 Solid Fuel Facilities Near Agricultural Land
[Asia Economy Reporter La Young-cheol] Gyeonggi Province plans to expand livestock manure treatment and fertilizer production facilities, including 'village-type compost resource facilities,' starting this year.
According to the province on the 30th, 28 'village-type compost resource facilities' will be expanded around large-scale farmland, storing compost that has undergone primary maturation for medium or longer periods to create a communal resource for the village.
Additionally, 14 new 'livestock manure joint resource facilities' will be installed to collect manure from individual farms, mature it, and spread it on farmland. The province also plans to expand 8 biogas production facilities that professionally process livestock manure into energy and 5 solid fuel production facilities.
The facility expansion project will be implemented annually from this year through 2025, and the province expects to process approximately 3.4 million tons of livestock manure annually.
