Gimhae-si Calls for Resident Participation Budget Proposal Projects ... Total of 3 Billion KRW Reflected
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] Gimhae City in Gyeongnam announced on the 29th that it will hold a public contest for the ‘Resident Participatory Budget Proposal Projects’ to be included in next year’s budget until the end of May.
The contest fields are divided into resident participatory projects proposed by general citizens for the overall development of the city, and resident autonomy projects directly proposed by residents of eup, myeon, and dong for local community-based projects, which are selected by the local committee.
Projects supporting specific organizations, subsidy projects, business and sales-oriented projects, and one-time event projects are excluded.
The submitted proposal projects will undergo an appropriateness review by the relevant department, followed by selection through the Resident Participatory Budget Committee’s deliberation and electronic voting, and up to 3 billion KRW will be reflected in next year’s budget through the city council’s resolution in December.
Last year’s contest projects included a total of 32 cases such as neighborhood conflict mediators, Sandollim Park maintenance, and training of Gimhae citizen discussion facilitators, selecting 2.29 billion KRW to be reflected in this year’s budget.
