Boseong-gun 'Beolgyo-eup Youth Harmony' Group Lights the Flame of Hope Through Talent Donation
LED Light Replacement Volunteer Service for Low-Income Families in the District
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Cheon-seok] Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim Cheol-woo) announced on the 29th that members of the Beolgyo-eup Youth Harmony group volunteered their talents the day before to improve the living conditions of low-income households (6 households) in the area.
Members of Youth Harmony (President Kim Hyun-jin), a volunteer group in Beolgyo-eup, have been donating their talents monthly by replacing old and worn-out lights in rooms such as bedrooms, living rooms, and kitchens with LED lights to bring the light of hope to low-income households struggling with outdated facilities.
Kim Hyun-jin, president of Youth Harmony, said, “Due to COVID-19, children living in other regions have not been able to visit frequently, which seems to have increased concerns about the elderly’s well-being. Going forward, members will visit often to check on them and pay more attention to their living environments.”
Seon Nam-gyu, mayor of Beolgyo-eup, who visited the volunteer activity site, said, “I am grateful to the members who volunteered despite it being the weekend, and Beolgyo-eup will continue to pay attention and make efforts to eliminate welfare blind spots in the community.”
