Q2 Move-in Volume Plummets 32% QoQ... Lowest in 9 Years
Real Estate 114, Analysis of Apartment Move-in Volume from April to June
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyemin] The nationwide apartment move-in volume for the second quarter of this year is set to plummet by 32% compared to the same period last year. This marks the lowest level in the past nine years.
According to Real Estate 114 on the 29th, the scheduled apartment move-in volume nationwide for the second quarter (April to June) is 48,089 households, a 31.9% decrease compared to the same period last year (70,621 households). This is the lowest level in nine years since the second quarter of 2012 (44,787 households).
The move-in volume in the 수도권 (Sudogwon, Seoul Capital Area) is 23,424 households, showing a sharp decline of about 55% compared to the previous quarter. In Seoul, the number decreases from 11,435 households in the first quarter to 6,096 households in the second quarter, and in Gyeonggi-do, it drops from 38,851 households to 13,633 households during the same period. On the other hand, Incheon is estimated to increase from 1,766 households to 3,695 households.
In Seoul, 6,096 households will move into 15 apartment complexes in the second quarter of this year. These include ▲Eunpyeong-gu, Eungam-dong Hillstate Nokbeon Station (879 households) ▲Dongjak-gu, Sadang-dong Isu Prugio The Pretium (514 households) ▲Seocho-gu, Banpo-dong The H Classe (848 households) ▲Seocho-gu, Seocho-dong Seocho Grand Xi (1,446 households), among others.
In Gyeonggi-do and Incheon, 17,328 households will move into 29 complexes. Notable among these are ▲Seongnam-si, Bundang-gu Daejang-dong area Pangyo The Sharp Forest A11·A12 (990 households) ▲Incheon Seo-gu Geomdan New Town Hoban Verdiem (1,168 households).

Outside the 수도권 (Sudogwon), the apartment move-in volume is expected to remain at around 25,000 households through the third quarter. In the second quarter, a total of 24,665 households will move into 48 complexes.
