KOSPI Maintains Steady Trend at 3040 Level...Individual Investors Buy Alone
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jihwan] On the afternoon of the 29th, the KOSPI is holding steady around the '3040 level' supported by buying pressure from individual investors.
As of 2:06 PM, the KOSPI is at 3,044.75, up 3.74 points from the previous trading day. The KOSPI opened at 3,047.71, up 6.70 points (0.22%) from the previous day, and has been fluctuating around the flat line in the mid-session.
By investor type, individuals are net buyers with 594.6 billion KRW. In contrast, foreigners and institutions are net sellers with 101.0 billion KRW and 483.6 billion KRW, respectively.
Among the top market capitalization stocks, SK Hynix (-1.11%) and NAVER (-2.09%) declined. Meanwhile, Celltrion rose 5.73% on news of conditional approval from the European Medicines Agency (EMA) for its COVID-19 treatment, Regkirona. LG Chem (0.12%) and Samsung Biologics (3.17%) also increased.
At the same time, the KOSDAQ index is at 957.21, up 0.51 points (0.05%) from the previous trading day. The index opened at 956.88, up 0.18 points (0.02%), and has been fluctuating around the flat line in the mid-session.
On the KOSDAQ, only individual investors are net buyers with 90.5 billion KRW worth of stocks. Foreigners and institutions are net sellers with 32.0 billion KRW and 35.6 billion KRW, respectively.
