Seoul Mayor By-election D-10... Oh Se-hoon 50.5%, Park Young-sun 34.8%
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Eun-byeol] Ten days before the April 7 Seoul mayoral by-election, a poll released on the 28th showed that Oh Se-hoon, the candidate from the People Power Party, is leading Park Young-sun, the candidate from the Democratic Party of Korea, by more than 15 percentage points.
According to a poll conducted by Ipsos on behalf of the Korea Economic Daily from the 26th to 27th, targeting 800 men and women aged 18 and over residing in Seoul via landline (10.1%) and mobile phone (89.9%), Oh's support rate was 50.5%, while Park's was 34.8%. The gap between the two candidates was 15.7 percentage points.
Oh received 78.6% support among conservative respondents, significantly ahead of Park, who had 13.4%. Among moderate voters, Oh also had a higher support rate at 56.2% compared to Park's 27.0%. Conversely, 60.6% of progressive voters supported Park, while Oh received 24.3%.
When asked about the likelihood of winning the Seoul mayoral election, Oh received 56.8% support, while Park received 26.3%.
