Sejong City Strengthens Collection Activities Against 'High-Amount, Chronic' Tax Delinquents Until May
[Asia Economy (Sejong) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Sejong City announced on the 28th that it will designate the period from March to May as the local tax delinquency clearance period and strengthen collection activities for delinquent taxes.
During the clearance period, the city plans to auction off seized real estate owned by high-amount and chronic delinquent taxpayers and conduct focused investigations on assets with high seizure benefits such as pre-sale rights, lease rights, deposits, and salaries.
In particular, to collect delinquent automobile taxes, the city will carry out license plate confiscation activities twice a week and designate the first Wednesday of every month as a "Joint Confiscation Day" to simultaneously crack down across all districts with the cooperation of town and township officials.
However, for livelihood-type, small businesses, and small merchants who have suffered direct or indirect damage due to COVID-19, the city plans to support economic recovery through measures such as deferral of delinquent tax collection, postponement of seizure actions, suspension of confiscation, and installment payments.
