The citizen experiential beekeeping farm, which allows participants to experience beekeeping and observe the ecology of bees, is a highly popular citizen engagement brand project that has been promoted annually since 2016.
The experience will be held every Saturday from next month until July at the experiential sites in Eulim-dong, Gwangsan-gu, and Goseo-myeon, Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do, where participants can directly engage in beekeeping education and honey harvesting.
The experience is operated by the Gwangju branch of the Korea Beekeeping Association, selected through a public contest process, and the participation fee is 100,000 KRW per applicant for hive rental, payable to the Beekeeping Association.
The honey produced from the hives will be distributed to participants up to a maximum of 10 kg per person.
Citizens wishing to apply can search for ‘experiential beekeeping’ on the city’s website under notices and announcements, then visit the city’s Life Agriculture Division from the 29th to submit their application in person or send it by fax.
