Taking a New Leap to Revitalize 'Garak Market e-Mall'
Promotion of activation including same-day ingredient delivery through online specialized companies and development of convenient purchase mobile app
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Seoul Agro-Fisheries & Food Corporation (President Kim Kyung-ho) has recently selected a specialized online trading company for agricultural and marine food ingredients as a new operator to revitalize the existing Garak Market e-mall amid the rapid growth of online markets due to COVID-19 and other factors, aiming for a new leap forward.
Garak Market e-mall is a system where distributors such as intermediate wholesalers directly enter the online shopping mall to sell fresh products traded at Garak Market. It has been operating since April 2015 and has played an important role as a separate online distribution channel alongside Garak Market.
In December last year, the corporation selected Foodpang Co., Ltd., a specialized online trading company for agricultural and marine food ingredients based on wholesale markets, as the new entrusted operator of Garak Market e-mall. After a three-month preparation period, the improved new system is scheduled to open on April 5.
Going forward, Garak Market e-mall plans to utilize the new operator’s expertise to promote online transactions at Garak Market through same-day product delivery, convenient mobile app development, and development of home meal replacement products.
