Ministry of Justice Increases Joint Inspection Personnel... Dispatches 3 Prosecutors
[Asia Economy Reporter Baek Kyunghwan] The Ministry of Justice has decided to dispatch additional personnel to the Ministry of Justice Inspection Office for a joint inspection related to allegations of obstruction of justice coaching by the investigation team of former Prime Minister Han Myeong-sook.
On the 26th, the Ministry of Justice announced that it had decided to dispatch three prosecutors responsible for prosecutorial reform from the Prosecutor's Office, Policy Advisor's Office, and Policy Planning Division, as well as one administrative officer from the Human Rights Bureau, to the Inspection Office.
The Ministry of Justice stated, "This is to promptly implement the joint inspection order issued by the Minister on the 17th and to enhance the effectiveness of the inspection through organic cooperation among related departments and bureaus," adding, "To minimize the burden on frontline offices, no personnel were dispatched from local prosecution offices." Going forward, the Ministry of Justice plans to hold joint meetings with the Supreme Prosecutors' Office Inspection Department to closely coordinate on all aspects of the joint inspection work.
