Sancheong-gun to Develop 110ha of Forest Resources This Year with 640 Million Won Investment
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 26th that it will promote an economic and public forest resource development project that has high utilization value and is effective in disaster prevention.
This year's afforestation project, with a budget of 640 million won, covers an area of about 110 hectares. Economic tree afforestation such as cypress and lily trees accounts for 73.4 hectares, and forest disaster prevention afforestation such as Hovenia dulcis covers about 25.1 hectares.
Sancheong-gun is establishing a forest income base by creating 37 hectares of nectar trees such as robinia and alnus for local residents' income generation, and is also promoting a 3-hectare afforestation project to reduce fine dust, which has recently been pointed out as a social issue.
