Jeonnam Social Organizations Federation "Welcomes the Passage of the Korea Electric Power University Act in the National Assembly"
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Jeonnam Provincial Social Organizations Federation announced on the 26th that it welcomes the passage of the Korea Energy Engineering University Act in the National Assembly.
The federation issued a statement at the briefing room of the Jeonnam Provincial Council on the same day.
They said, "Our federation has actively supported with one heart and one mind for the swift passage since last month’s resolution urging the necessity and justification of Korea Energy Engineering University."
They continued, "Our region is mainly based on agriculture and fisheries, with a weak industrial foundation and poor educational environment," adding, "Every year, many young people leave our region in search of jobs or to expand educational opportunities."
They further explained, "When Korea Energy Engineering University opens and is established in March next year, it will create world-class research capabilities in the energy sector, which is the nation's future growth engine," and "Through fostering creative engineering talents, it can enhance national competitiveness and contribute to the development of national science and technology."

They also added, "The Korea Energy Engineering University will lead Korea’s new energy industry in connection with nearby industry-academia-research collaborations, and our federation will not spare interest and support so that it can become an energy engineering university attracting global attention."
