On the same day, Minister Han visited Nano, a clean air sector company located in Sangju City, Gyeongsangbuk-do, in the morning and said, "For South Korea to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, green transformation in the industrial sector through eco-friendly and low-carbon methods is crucial."
Nano was selected as a promising Green New Deal company last year in the 2020 Green New Deal Promising Companies 100 contest promoted by the Ministry of Environment, highly evaluated for the excellence of its promising technology in the clean air field and its potential for innovative growth.
Nano is a specialized company in ultra-fine dust removal denitrification catalysts and is a materials, parts, and equipment company in the environmental catalyst field with an organic process system from raw material production to customized catalyst product manufacturing and performance evaluation tailored to demand.
By developing Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) devices that reduce air pollution while simultaneously improving energy combustion efficiency, Nano is promoting commercialization in various areas such as thermal power plants and ship engines, aiming to become a prospective green unicorn company (annual sales exceeding 100 billion KRW).
The Green New Deal Promising Companies 100 cultivation and support project is a collaborative initiative between the Ministry of Environment and the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, launched last year to nurture small and medium enterprises possessing promising green technologies into leading companies in the global green market.
