Chungnam Creates Over 2,600 Forest Jobs This Year
[Asia Economy (Hongseong) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Chungnam Province will create approximately 2,600 jobs in 18 forestry sectors this year with a budget of 32.7 billion KRW.
According to the province on the 26th, the creation of forestry jobs focuses on expanding public personnel in safety-related fields closely connected to citizens' lives, such as forest disasters, strengthening the public nature of forestry services, and laying the foundation for fostering new industries.
Major jobs include 800 specialized wildfire prevention and suppression personnel, 675 wildfire watchers, and 48 surveillance and control teams responsible for preventing forest disasters.
Additionally, 164 people will be employed in public forest maintenance, and 128 in forest biomass collection teams.
Furthermore, the province will provide jobs to vulnerable groups such as low-income individuals and unemployed youth, including positions like infant forest interpreters, wood utilization operation managers, and forest village ecological community managers.
The scale of forestry jobs will be announced on the websites of each city and county. Applications can be made through the local government office in the applicant's area of residence, and applicants must be residents aged 18 or older.

Lee Sang-chun, head of the Forestry Resources Division of the province, said, “We will secure forestry jobs in both public and private sectors as a job-driven economy for forest income-led growth. In particular, we will strive to ensure that residents can feel the expansion of jobs through balanced forestry policies.”
