10 Employees Volunteers and 60 Youths Matched in Small Groups for 90-Minute Mentoring
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Seoul Volunteer Center announced on the 26th that it conducted an online job mentoring program called ‘Ransen Job Talk’ for 60 young people together with 10 executives and employees from SM Entertainment on the 25th, to help youth prepare and plan for their future through meetings with current professionals.
The mentoring was divided into a total of 10 specialized fields, ranging from entertainment-related areas such as ?A&R, ?Video Design, ?Music Distribution, ?Singer and Actor Management, to ?Business Support, ?Human Resources, ?Finance, ?General Affairs and Purchasing, and ?Social Contribution, and lasted for 90 minutes.
For each job category, one executive volunteer was matched with six young participants in small groups, allowing for close and sincere conversations tailored to the situations of the participating youth. The mentoring session consisted of ?self-introductions sharing motivations and expectations of both executives and youth, ?job introductions including work environment, vision, and preparation methods shared by the executives’ knowledge and experiences, ?pre-submitted and open Q&A, and ?messages to the youth and mutual reflections on participation.
This mentoring held special significance as it was organized in the entertainment industry, where confidentiality is crucial and it is difficult to access information unless one is currently working in the field. It was highly popular, attracting a total of 245 applicants over five days.
Through this mentoring, young people were able to ease their vague concerns about the future and gain courage to move forward, while the participating executive volunteers also found new vitality and opportunities for growth.
