WI Signs Licensing Agent Agreement with League of Legends Champions Korea
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyungsoo] WI announced on the 25th that it has signed a licensing agent contract with the Korean professional league of "League of Legends" (hereinafter LoL), the LoL Champions Korea (LCK).
LoL is a game developed by the American company Riot Games and is one of the representative E-sports games.
WI will promote various merchandising (MD) businesses utilizing the LCK intellectual property (IP). WI's affiliate SSHOWLAB will be in charge of operating the "LCK Official Store" (tentative name), which distributes LCK and team merchandise.

Started in 2012, the LCK recorded an average of 4 million viewers per day during the "2020 LCK Summer." The "2020 LoL World Championship," where DAMWON Kia represented LCK and won the final championship, had about 46 million simultaneous viewers. From this year, LCK introduced a franchise system and unveiled a new brand. Currently, 10 teams are competing in the "2021 LCK Spring" regular league.
