On the 24th, Ewha Womans University announced that for the first semester of the 2021 academic year, it will operate both offline and non-face-to-face classes simultaneously, and has established remote lecture rooms with interactive capabilities, self-studios where lectures can be easily recorded alone, and online learning spaces on campus.
Two advanced lecture rooms in the ECC, Ewha’s learning, living, and cultural space, have been equipped with student table microphones to enable students attending face-to-face classes to communicate interactively with remote students. Professors can also communicate simultaneously with both in-person and remote students, allowing classes and discussions as if everyone were in the same space.

Individual study spaces were arranged where students can freely use shared PCs as well as various personal smart media devices such as smartphones and iPads. The university plans to continuously expand online learning spaces in the future.
In response to the trend of expanding remote classes, self-studios where professors can autonomously record lectures were established. One studio each was set up in Education Building A, Helen Hall, and the Medical Building (Magok), totaling three locations, equipped with instructor tracking camera systems, electronic whiteboards, writing monitors, and AV systems. By referring to the manuals provided in the self-studios, professors can easily record lectures and conduct real-time online classes whenever they want. The number of Ewha self-studios has increased to five in total.
