Last year, due to the impact of COVID-19, the tournament was held without spectators. Although the relatively unknown Sophia Popov (Germany) won a surprise victory, fans could only follow the Cinderella story through broadcasts and media reports. Slumbers said, "Nothing has been finalized regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, but vaccines are steadily being supplied, and the government is providing a clear framework to return to normal," expressing hope that "this summer will offer golf fans a wonderful experience."
