Ha Tae-kyung: "South Korea and the US Agreed Not to Announce Despite Detecting North Korea's Missile Launch"
[Asia Economy Reporter Naju-seok] Ha Tae-kyung, a member of the People Power Party, stated on the 21st that both South Korea and the United States had already identified North Korea's cruise missile launch at the time but had agreed not to announce it.
Ha, who serves as the opposition party's secretary on the National Assembly Intelligence Committee, revealed through social media (SNS) on the same day, "According to a report from the intelligence authorities to me, the opposition party's Intelligence Committee secretary, this morning, North Korea reportedly test-fired two short-range cruise missiles from Nampo towards China around 6:36 AM last Sunday."
He continued, "The South Korean and U.S. military authorities had identified the launch at the time but mutually agreed not to announce it, and there have been past cases where short-range missile launches were not announced due to South Korea-U.S. agreements."
