View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Soyoung] Former Dongyang University professor Jin Joong-kwon criticized former Democratic Party leader Lee Hae-chan as "the mastermind behind the current situation of the Democratic Party" and said, "Former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol's approval rating is not a bubble."
On the 22nd, Jin appeared on the YouTube channel Sisa Journal TV's 'Sisa Kkeutjang' and criticized, "Former leader Lee has ignored the sentiments of the moderate voters so far. He only delivered messages desired by hardline pro-Moon Jae-in supporters." He added, "While serving as party leader, he destroyed the political grammar of party politics with the logic of the student activist movement."
However, Jin said, "Still, former leader Lee's role in the election will be significant," and added, "In places like Seoul City, the Democratic Party controls everything. With Lee's appearance, organizational strength will be reinforced."
But he also said, "It seems former leader Lee is not good at judging reality," and predicted, "He will rally his support base, but it will likely end there. (The Democratic Party) will find it difficult to win elections without the moderate voters."
Earlier, on the 19th, former leader Lee appeared on the YouTube show 'Kim Eo-jun's Das Bweida' and said, "(The Seoul mayoral by-election) was expected to be very difficult, but seeing how things are going these days, it seems almost won." On the 18th, regarding allegations of real estate speculation by employees of the Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH), he said, "We need to accept reality and create systems to prevent recurrence. The upper stream is clear, but at the bottom, many wrong practices remain," which sparked controversy.
Meanwhile, Jin said, "Currently, former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol's approval rating is far ahead of the ruling party's presidential candidates," and added, "There were claims that Yoon's approval rating was a bubble, but he still shows strong support. Anti-Democratic Party supporters are backing Yoon."

He also argued that as the administration enters its latter half, "It will shift toward a judgment against the administration," and "There is considerable anger toward the Democratic Party, which has alienated moderate public sentiment." He added, "Yoon's approval rating is not a bubble. The public seems to hope for regime change through an alliance between Yoon and the People Power Party."
