Gwangju Gwangsan Fire Station Awards Commendation to Two Citizens for Early Fire Response

According to Gwangsan Fire Station on the 23rd, a fire broke out on the exterior wall of a commercial building in Sanjeong-dong, Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, around 9 p.m. on the 9th.
Janggeun Jo (49), who was working at a nearby store, made the first report to 119 and provided an accurate location description, reducing the fire truck's response time.
Daesung Son (42), who was working at another store, recognized the fire and used a fire extinguisher in the store to initiate early suppression, preventing the spread of damage.
The fire was rapidly burning the building's exterior wall made of dryvit material, which could have led to a major fire, but thanks to the quick response of the two citizens, it was extinguished with only about 500,000 won in property damage and no casualties.
