Josujin "Park Young-sun is pitiful... Moon only interested in Busan mayoral election"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Joo-hee] On the 21st, Sujin Cho, a member of the People Power Party, criticized President Moon Jae-in for "only paying attention to the Busan mayoral by-election" and implied that the president is indifferent to the Seoul mayoral election situation.
Cho, who is also the spokesperson for the People Power Party's Seoul mayoral by-election campaign committee, claimed on Facebook that "Democratic Party candidate Park Young-sun is pitiful."
Cho pointed out, "Why does President Moon Jae-in only directly oversee the Busan mayoral by-election?" and stated, "The Seoul mayoral by-election is being held due to the 'power-based sexual harassment' scandal involving former Seoul Mayor Park Won-soon, who was from the Democratic Party. The Busan mayoral by-election is also being held because of the 'power-based sexual harassment' case involving former Busan Mayor Oh Keo-don."
She continued, "However, President Moon personally visited Busan and promised massive support for the new airport even before the related law passed the National Assembly plenary session," adding, "He did not hesitate to accompany Song Cheol-ho, Mayor of Ulsan, and Kim Kyung-soo, Governor of Gyeongnam, who are currently on trial for election manipulation and public opinion manipulation."
Cho expressed sympathy for candidate Park, saying, "Park Young-sun is pitiful," and criticized, "Park alone pledged to give 100,000 won per Seoul citizen 'if elected.' Since she is unlikely to win, it will be an empty promise, but the president has not said a word about Park's pledge."
She emphasized, "Seoul is the capital of the Republic of Korea and home to one in four Koreans," and added, "Instead of petty things, I hope the president directly and vigorously presents substantial matters like airports, railroads, real estate, and the relocation of the Blue House."
The term "petty" used by Cho refers to President Moon's remarks on the 12th, when he criticized the opposition party's various allegations surrounding his private residence in Gyeongnam, saying, "Go ahead with that much. It's petty and embarrassing."
Meanwhile, President Moon personally visited the planned site of the new airport on Gadukdo Island on the 25th of last month, a day before the special law for the Gadukdo New Airport passed the National Assembly plenary session, to inspect the construction progress.
