[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Yangcheon Cultural Foundation (Chairman Kim Soo-young) will hold ‘The Luxury Concert with Conductor Seo Hoon’ on the 24th at the Yangcheon Culture Hall Grand Theater.
This performance will be presented by the Seoul Grand Philharmonic Orchestra, a skilled orchestra celebrating its 25th anniversary, which has consistently performed at events such as the Presidential Breakfast Concert, opera, and open concerts. Audiences can enjoy famous classical music accompanied by commentary from Music Director and Principal Conductor Seo Hoon.
The beautiful musical stories created by four soloists?pianist Kim Sung-eun, violinist Park Soo-jin, cellist Kim Kyung-joo, and flutist Yoo Young-joo?will continue throughout the concert.
Yangcheon Cultural Foundation planned this event as part of the ‘Monthly Musique’ project, which offers high-quality music performances at affordable prices under the concept of ‘Culture Day’ on the last week of every month, aiming to relieve the cultural thirst of residents during the difficult times of COVID-19 when enjoying cultural performances was challenging.
Last year, the foundation provided partial advance payments for performance fees to selected cultural and artistic organizations, including this orchestra, to support the struggling cultural and artistic community due to COVID-19. In response, the Seoul Grand Philharmonic Orchestra, one of the selected groups, held an ‘Opera Gala Concert,’ providing residents with high-quality musical performances and becoming a positive example of collaboration in the cultural and artistic sector during the pandemic.
Tickets for ‘The Luxury Concert’ can be purchased through the Interpark Ticket website (or by phone) and on-site (if seats remain, one hour before the performance). All seats are priced at 10,000 KRW, but Yangcheon residents can enjoy the concert at half price, 5,000 KRW.
More details are available on the foundation’s website or blog. The performance will follow quarantine guidelines, including seat distancing, temperature checks, and health questionnaires, and wearing masks inside the theater is mandatory.
Kim Soo-young, Chairman of the Foundation (Mayor of Yangcheon District), said, “I am pleased to be able to collaborate again with the Seoul Grand Philharmonic Orchestra, which received much love last year,” adding, “I hope many residents find comfort and strength through this wonderful performance during these difficult times.”
