Dongmyeong University Hosts Unique Joint Seminar to Promote Maker Culture Expansion

A joint seminar to promote the spread of maker culture was held at Dongmyung University on March 17.
View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Dongmyung University (President Jeong Hong-seop) Social Customized Industry-Academic Cooperation Leading University (LINC+) Promotion Project Group (Director Shin Dong-seok) held a "Joint Seminar for the Spread of Maker Culture" on March 17th at the Creative Multipurpose Hall on the 2nd floor of Dongmyung Hall in collaboration with the Busan Makers Association.
The seminar included presentations on the operation cases of the Busan Nam-gu Youth Creative Development Center and Dongmyung University Makerspace (Director Kim Sang-gil), as well as a talk concert on the theme of "The Role of Makerspaces" to promote the spread of maker culture in the Busan area.
This event, jointly organized by Dongmyung University Regional Community Cooperation Center Maker RCC (Responsible Professor Lee Jong-pyo) and Busan Makers Association (Co-Chairs Jeong Chung-kyo and Kim Byung-gi), was attended by about 40 people including representatives from maker-related institutions, universities, and companies in the Busan area.
Professor Lee Jong-pyo (Department of Digital Media Engineering) of Dongmyung University, who conducted the event, said, "We are planning various seminars and events to expand the base of maker culture in the Busan area and to activate networks for information exchange among makers."
The Dongmyung University LINC+ Project Group is conducting diverse activities to spread maker culture, such as maker education and prototype production, targeting local youth and residents.

The project group operates various educational programs through makerspaces within the Busan Nam-gu Youth Creative Development Center and the Busan Beacon Ground Makerspace.
