No Additional COVID-19 Cases in Correctional Facilities... Awaiting Test Results for About 670 at Nambu Detention Center
[Asia Economy Reporter Seo So-jeong] Three COVID-19 cases have been confirmed at Gangwon Yeongwol Prison and Seoul Southern Detention Center, with no additional cases reported yet.
According to the Ministry of Justice on the 19th, as of 5 p.m. that day, there are four people isolated after testing positive for COVID-19 in correctional facilities nationwide: three correctional officers and one inmate.
After two staff members tested positive at the Southern Detention Center the previous day, approximately 230 staff and 1,830 inmates underwent mass testing. As a result, all staff and about 1,160 inmates tested negative, while the remaining approximately 670 inmates are awaiting test results.
