Gas Suffocation Suspected on Vessel Docked at Donghae Port... 2 Dead, 1 Injured
[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] Two workers died in an accident presumed to be caused by gas suffocation on a vessel docked at Donghae Port, Gangwon Province.
According to the Donghae Coast Guard on the 19th, around 8:30 p.m. on the 18th, three workers in their 40s collapsed while unloading zinc in a 29,000-ton vessel's zinc storage at Donghae Port, Songjeong-dong, Donghae City.
As a result of the accident, two people, including Mr. A (44), died, and one person was transported to a hospital and is receiving treatment.
Mr. A, who had gone down to the zinc storage to unload zinc, collapsed, and his colleagues who tried to rescue him also collapsed together.
