Turkey "4.5 Million Doses of Pfizer Vaccine to Arrive by March"
[Asia Economy Reporter Donghoon Jeong] Turkey is expected to introduce the vaccine developed by the US company Pfizer and the German pharmaceutical company BioNTech within this month.
Fahrettin Koca, Turkey's Minister of Health, said on the 18th (local time) after the Coronavirus Science Committee meeting, "We will bring in 4.5 million doses (single-dose units) of the Pfizer vaccine within this month." He added, "Already, 58,000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine for testing have arrived in Turkey," and "The vaccines will be administered in the order set by the government."

The Turkish government plans to start vaccinating adults aged 60 to 65 from next week. Since January, Turkey has been administering the CoronaVac vaccine developed by the Chinese pharmaceutical company Sinovac. According to the Ministry of Health, as of the previous day, about 12.35 million people have received at least one dose of the CoronaVac vaccine, which corresponds to approximately 14.9% of the total population of 83 million.
