Silla University Maintains 'Education Internationalization Competency Certification'... Foundation for Expanding Global Competency and Attracting International Students
Maintaining Certification Since 2015 Acquisition
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Silla University has obtained certification for its educational internationalization competency, which measures global educational capabilities, and will maintain this certification for over six years until early next year.
Silla University (President Kim Chung-seok) announced on the 18th that it passed the '2020 Academic Year Educational Internationalization Competency Certification Evaluation' conducted by the Ministry of Education and the National Research Foundation of Korea, allowing it to maintain the certification until February next year.
The Educational Internationalization Competency Certification system grants certification to universities equipped with internationalization capabilities in education, aiming to enhance universities' global competencies and support the expansion of foreign student recruitment.
In the 2021 academic year, Silla University will receive benefits such as additional points when selected for the GKS (Government Scholarship Program for Foreign Students), simplified visa issuance procedures, and introduction of certified universities on official Ministry of Education websites including the Korean Study Abroad Comprehensive System.
A Silla University official stated, "By maintaining the Educational Internationalization Competency Certification, we will be able to attract excellent foreign students and further expand internationalization projects. We plan to focus on strengthening our educational internationalization capabilities by leveraging the benefits of certification universities, such as eased visa issuance procedures."
