Dongmyeong University Department of Advertising and PR Opens 'Counseling Center' to Support Graduate School Admissions at Home and Abroad
Professor Lee Jung-ki of Dongmyeong University Opens Communication Graduate School Counseling Center
Matching Graduate Students and Seniors to Introduce Study Methods, Also Giving Personal Book Gifts
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] "Knock, knock... Knock on the counseling center door." The Department of Advertising and PR at Dongmyung University (Department Head Lee Jeong-gi) has taken on the role of a hub to assist students in advancing to graduate schools of communication both domestically and internationally.
The Department of Advertising and PR at this university announced that Professor Lee Jeong-gi will open a "Communication Graduate School Admission Counseling Center" for Dongmyung University students.
The Communication Graduate School Admission Counseling Center is a program that provides relevant information to Dongmyung University students who wish to enter communication graduate schools (such as Media Communication, Advertising and Public Relations, Journalism and Broadcasting departments) at home and abroad.
Professor Lee plans to match undergraduate students aiming to enter graduate school with suitable domestic and international graduate programs, and provide information on how to apply, study methods in graduate school, and career paths after graduation.
There will also be opportunities to connect with seniors currently attending graduate school to gain insights about graduate school life.
All programs are offered free of charge on an ongoing basis. Even students who are not in the Advertising and PR department but are enrolled at Dongmyung University and interested in communication graduate school admission can participate.
Among participating students, 50 will receive a free copy of the graduate school admission guidebook "Communication Graduate Schools in Korea," written by Professor Lee last September based on his own experience.
Professor Lee Jeong-gi graduated from Dongmyung University in 2007, completed his master's degree (2009) and doctoral degree (2013) at Hanyang University, and after serving as a lecturer in the Department of Journalism and Broadcasting at Hanyang University and as a senior researcher (research professor) at the Center for Teaching and Learning Support, he has been teaching at his alma mater Dongmyung University since 2018.
Professor Lee explained the background of establishing the "Communication Graduate School Admission Counseling Center," saying, "When I was an undergraduate, I wanted to go to graduate school but was unsure where to go, what to prepare, and what graduate school life and post-graduation vision would be like. I wanted to help my juniors at my alma mater avoid the same worries."
