Seoul City Opens Enrollment for 'Jipsuri Academy' Repair Course... First 30 Applicants from the 26th
Training to be held for 4 weeks starting from the 29th
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyemin] The Seoul Metropolitan Government will conduct a 'Home Repair Academy' training program starting at the end of this month for people who want to directly repair and live in their old houses.
On the 18th, Seoul announced that it will recruit 30 students on a first-come, first-served basis for the basic course of the 'Home Repair Academy' starting at 11 a.m. on the 26th.
The training will be held for four weeks starting from the 29th. Any adult Seoul citizen can apply. The tuition fee is 80,000 KRW. Students will learn home repair theory through online lectures and acquire home repair skills through practical training. An advanced course for those who complete the basic course will be held for four weeks starting from May 30.
Seoul plans to expand the number of trainees from 420 last year to 600 this year due to increasing demand every year. Popular subjects such as electricity, tiling, and plumbing will be offered in tailored classes, divided into daytime and after-work sessions. However, depending on the COVID-19 situation, recruitment may be canceled or the training may be switched from in-person to online.
