Creation of 'Sports Virtual Reality Experience Center' in Dong-gu, Gwangju
Gwangju and Jeonnam's First... Targeting Opening Next Month at Dong-gu Youth Center
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Im Taek) announced on the 17th that it will open the region's first "Sports Virtual Reality Experience Center" in the first half of this year, where teenagers can engage in various sports activities without environmental constraints such as fine dust and heat waves.
After being selected in October last year for the "Korea Sports Promotion Foundation Virtual Reality Sports Room Distribution Project," Dong-gu is currently creating a 30-pyeong (approximately 99 square meters) experience center on the first floor multipurpose room of the Dong-gu Youth Training Center.
With a total project cost of 60 million KRW aimed for opening next month, the center will be equipped with a large screen, motion recognition sensors, beam projectors, sports equipment, and safety facilities such as shock-absorbing flooring.
This experience center is the first facility of its kind among youth training facilities in the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions, allowing realistic virtual reality experiences of various sports such as archery, golf, and baseball.
