Gyeongnam Office of Education Supports Customized Learning Assistance Through Basic Academic Skills Assessment
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Kang Sharon] The Gyeongsangnam-do Office of Education announced on the 17th that it will conduct a basic academic skills assessment for all elementary, middle, and high school students in March.
The office has been promoting student-centered customized support policies to address learning deficits and gaps.
Accordingly, all schools in the province will conduct standardized basic academic skills assessments and autonomous diagnostic tests tailored to each school's circumstances in March, operating customized support programs for students who are lagging in learning.
The basic academic skills assessment focuses on identifying the causes of learning delays by considering grade-specific characteristics and encompassing both academic and non-academic aspects.
Based on the diagnostic results, students with learning delays receive support in three stages through individual cause analysis.
The first stage involves prevention of learning delays through responsible education within classes; the second stage provides integrated customized education support by the school's multi-support team according to the causes of learning delays; and the third stage offers support from the out-of-school Learning Comprehensive Clinic Center. Families are also notified of the diagnostic results and counseling is provided.
