Gyeongnam Province Reports 27 New COVID-19 Cases... Jinju Company and Geoje Entertainment Venues Included (Comprehensive)
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] As of 1:30 PM on the 17th, Gyeongsangnam-do announced that 27 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been reported since 5 PM the previous day.
By region, there are 13 cases in Jinju, 6 in Geoje, 3 each in Changwon and Gimhae, and 1 each in Namhae and Hadong.
Among the Jinju cases, 4 and 1 case in Changwon are related to the Jinju bathhouse cluster, confirmed positive and classified as cases 2505 to 2508 and 2503 respectively. This brings the total number of confirmed cases related to the Jinju bathhouse to 190.
The remaining 4 Jinju cases are related to a Jinju company cluster, confirmed positive and classified as cases 2509 to 2512. This brings the total number of confirmed cases related to the Jinju company to 18.
Case 2390, related to the Jinju company cluster, was confirmed to have visited a Bosung Bathhouse in Sangdae-dong, Jinju from the 10th to the 12th.
Accordingly, the quarantine authorities have tested a total of 295 people related to the Jinju company, including Bosung Bathhouse, with 18 positives including the initial case, 208 negatives, and 70 tests still in progress.
One person who had contact with confirmed cases from other regions and two who voluntarily got tested due to symptoms were confirmed positive and classified as cases 2513, 2514, and 2526.
Two workers at a nursing hospital in Jinju tested positive in a preemptive screening of high-risk facilities and were classified as cases 2524 and 2525. The quarantine authorities tested a total of 142 workers at the nursing hospital, and except for the initial two confirmed cases, all tested negative.
Among the 6 Geoje cases, 4 are related to Geoje entertainment establishments, confirmed positive and classified as cases 2500, 2516, 2517, and 2519. This brings the total number of confirmed cases related to Geoje entertainment establishments to 50.
The quarantine authorities have tested a total of 5,095 people including visitors and contacts of entertainment establishments and bathhouses, with 50 positives including the initial case, 3,551 negatives, and 1,495 tests still in progress.
Additionally, one person who voluntarily got tested due to symptoms and one who had contact with confirmed cases in the province were confirmed positive and classified as cases 2501 and 2518 respectively.
Among the 3 Gimhae cases, one and one Changwon case are family and acquaintances of Gyeongnam case 2475, confirmed positive and classified as cases 2520 and 2502 respectively.
One Gimhae case, after confirming that a family member of an acquaintance was positive, got tested and was confirmed positive, classified as case 2521. The acquaintance is currently undergoing testing.
Also, one person who voluntarily got tested due to symptoms was confirmed positive and classified as case 2522. The infection route is under investigation.
One Changwon case is related to the metropolitan area cluster, confirmed positive and classified as case 2523.
One case each in Namhae and Hadong were confirmed positive after contact with confirmed cases in the province, classified as cases 2504 and 2515 respectively.
