Seungho Kim, Chairman of Boryung Pharmaceutical, Receives '2nd Korea Pharmaceutical Awards'

The Korea Pharmaceutical and Bio Association announced on the 17th that it held the award ceremony for the pharmaceutical and bio sector of the '2nd Korea Pharmaceutical Awards' on the 16th at the Pharmaceutical Hall in Seocho-gu, Seoul, and presented a plaque and prize to Chairman Kim Seung-ho.
The Korea Pharmaceutical Awards were jointly established last year by three pharmaceutical industry organizations?the Korean Pharmaceutical Association, the Korea Pharmaceutical and Bio Association, and the Korea Drug Distribution Association?to promote pride in the efforts and service of the pharmaceutical industry and to widely publicize their achievements.
Chairman Kim Seung-ho was selected as the awardee in recognition of his contributions to the development of national medicines suited to the Korean constitution through the release of Yonggaksan in 1967 and Gelfos in 1975, as well as his efforts in domestic production of raw pharmaceutical materials and the development of the new antihypertensive drug 'Kanarb,' contributing to the advancement of the pharmaceutical industry.
Chairman Won Hee-mok, Korean Pharmaceutical Association President Kim Dae-up, and Korea Drug Distribution Association Chairman Cho Sun-hye, representing the three organizations, stated, “Chairman Kim Seung-ho has elevated the status of the industry through the advancement of the pharmaceutical industry and the development of the nation’s first antihypertensive drug, and has proactively fulfilled corporate social responsibility. We are pleased to present the Korea Pharmaceutical Award to someone who has devoted his life to the pharmaceutical industry and contributed to national economic development.”
