[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] This spring·and summer season, fashion trends influenced by the 'new normal' are expected to continue following last year. With remote work and staying at home becoming routine due to COVID-19, and the boundaries between homewear and work/outdoor wear blurring, classic items emphasizing comfort and versatility have emerged as the trend.
The long-stagnant domestic fashion market is also reviving this month. Since the easing of quarantine measures last month, from February 15 to 28, Lotte Department Store's fashion sales increased by 48% compared to the same period last year, and in March (1?15), sales grew by 75%. Especially, women's fashion sales surged by 119% in March, showing a stronger growth compared to 58% from February 15 to 28.
To further stimulate the fashion consumption that has fully revived with the arrival of spring and to invigorate the previously sluggish fashion market, Lotte Department Store announced on the 17th that it will hold the 'Korea's Top 5 Fashion Groups Fashion Week' for four days from the 18th to the 21st at all Lotte Department Store locations. Hansome and Samsung C&T (from the 19th to 21st) will lead the event, joined by Baba Fashion, Daehyun, and Siseon International.
The participating brands include a total of 42 brands such as Hansome's Time, Mine, Lanvin Collection, System; Samsung C&T's Kuho, Le Beige, Beanpole; Baba Fashion's Jigott, The Izzat Collection, Izzat Baba; Daehyun's Mojo Espin, Juke; and Siseon International's Missha, It Missha. This year, the brands from the top 5 fashion groups have launched numerous new products emphasizing comfort and practicality in line with the 'new normal' trend.
During the event period, Lotte Department Store will offer a 5?10% discount to customers who purchase spring and summer new products from each fashion group brand using a Lotte Card, and will hold an event giving Lotte gift certificates worth 5% of the purchase amount.
Additional benefits are also available by fashion group. Hansome offers a 'Double Mileage Benefit' during the event period, providing an additional 5% mileage accumulation on top of the existing 5% mileage for customers who purchase products. Samsung C&T will sell Kuho and Le Beige products at a 10% discount off the regular price from the 19th to 21st, and offer discounts of 20,000, 30,000, and 50,000 KRW when purchasing Beanpole products worth 200,000, 300,000, and 500,000 KRW respectively. Siseon International, Daehyun, and Baba Fashion provide an additional 10?20% discount to customers who join their brand memberships and purchase products.
An online event is also prepared. On Lotte On's Lotte Department Store Mall, from the 15th to 21st, seven brands from Baba Fashion and Daehyun Group including Jigott, Juke, and CC Collect will participate in the 'Fashion Week Online' event. Various popular spring products will be sold at reasonable prices, and a 10% additional discount will be offered for purchases over 100,000 KRW.
