GM Subsidiary Cruise Acquires Autonomous Driving Startup 'Boiji'
[Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Jae-hee] Cruise, the autonomous driving subsidiary of American automaker General Motors (GM), is acquiring autonomous driving startup Voizy.
According to CNBC on the 15th (local time), Oliver Cameron, CEO of Voizy, announced this fact through a blog post. However, the detailed terms of the sale were not disclosed.
Cameron is expected to join Cruise as vice president, and most of Voizy's approximately 60 employees will also move to Cruise.
Cruise has been steadily conducting autonomous driving tests since being acquired by GM in 2016.

Cruise has attracted attention with investments from Japan's Honda, SoftBank Group's Vision Fund, and the United States' Microsoft (MS).
