[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Choyoung] On the 15th, Kim Eun-hye, a member of the People Power Party, criticized President Moon Jae-in's remark referring to the speculation allegations by Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) employees as "real estate deep-rooted evils," saying, "The phrase 'the pot calling the kettle black' is used in situations like this."
On the same day, Kim stated on her Facebook, "The president, who boasted 'I am confident when it comes to real estate,' today even blamed 'the political circles' for this."
Kim pointed out, "He blamed the 'admission system' for the admission scandal involving former Minister Cho Kuk's daughter, and now he blames the 'system' again," adding, "Is he saying that the Moon administration's real estate speculation gate happened because there was no system?"
She continued, "The deep-rooted evils are not far away," and "The people think that the 'real estate deep-rooted evils' the president is so eager to find are the Moon Jae-in administration itself."
She further mentioned, "The planned speculation that occurred before the announcement of the new town, the speculation allegations of ruling party lawmakers, the family members of the main culprits who wasted hundreds of billions of taxpayers' money openly profiting from national projects, and even the split purchases by the wife of a current vice minister and a Blue House secretary?all these situations are the very deep-rooted evils."
Finally, Kim raised her voice, saying, "Due to this government's incompetence and moral laxity, housing prices have skyrocketed, and the people's desperate dream of owning a home has been shattered," adding, "Whether he sees it or just pretends not to, it is astonishing that the president has not offered a single sincere apology. The Moon Jae-in administration, which destroyed the candlelight spirit that yearned for justice and fairness, has no right to mention the candlelight protests."
